Dr. Tham Seong Wai was born in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. He is currently working as a Senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist and is the Head of Reproductive Medicine Unit, O&G Department, Ipoh General Hospital. He obtained his MBBS from Trivandrum Medical College, University of Kerala, India in 1992 and proceeded to complete his Masters in O&G from Faculty of Medicine, University Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2002. In 2008, he completed his Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine from Australia. He is registered in the Malaysian National Specialist Registry for both Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as Reproductive Medicine. He is the Head of Malaysian National Reproductive Medicine services as well as Chairperson of the Malaysian National Reproductive Medicine Sub-Speciality Training committee and is a mentor in the National Reproductive Medicine Sub-Speciality programme. He is also an Honorary Lecturer in UniKL and Sultan Azlan Shah College of Health Sciences. He has received Excellence in Service award from the Malaysian Ministry of Health on 3 occassions. He has conducted and published research papers related to O&G and Reproductive Medicine.
