Dr. Wai-Leng Lee is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Science, Monash University Malaysia, where she teaches biology, medical cell biology, and molecular biology & biotechnology. Her research focuses on extracellular vesicles (EVs) as biomarkers for cancer detection and management, with an emphasis on developing non-invasive diagnostic tools by integrating AI and spectroscopy techniques. Since joining Monash in 2013, she has secured multiple grants to advance this work, publishing over 66 research articles and book chapters with around 2630 citations. She serves on the editorial board of Scientific Reports (Springer Nature) and reviews for journals such as Theranostics. Dr. Lee’s collaborative research has led to innovations like a urinary EV-based prostate cancer detection method, which won a silver medal at ITEX’20. Her current efforts aim to refine EV capture methods and enhance diagnostic applications through AI-driven analysis.
